Spring is around the corner and today I’m sharing some of my top spring trends from Walmart! Tie dye is one of the biggest trends this spring season…you will, if you haven’t already, see it everywhere. From calming blues, to bright bold hues, Walmart has a great selection of tie dye pieces.

I was personally draw to this lightweight blue and white tie dye sweater and this tie dye slip skirt. The sweater is perfect to wear now and wear well right into summer (think chilly nights) and this skirt can also be worn from now through summer. Swap out the sweater for a tee or tank and pair it with this slip skirt when the days are warmer.

I decided to wear sneakers (not from Walmart) with this look but you can easily dress this up as well with a great pair of nude heels like these.

For size reference, I’m wearing a size small in both the sweater and the slip skirt.

I love the tie dye print of the slip skirt so much that I also purchased the slip dress and its gorgeous! I paired the slip dress with this soft denim bomber jacket with red varsity stripes, these red sandals, and white sunglasses.

When the weather warms up, remove the bomber jacket and bare your sun kissed shoulders. This slip dress is perfect for date night, girls night, or an upcoming vacation!

For size reference, I’m wearing a small in both the dress and the bomber jacket…the sandals run true to size as well!

Some other spring trends included polka dots and floral prints. You all know how much I love prints, especially floral prints! I spotted this dot dress and immediately added it to my cart. It’s navy blue with white polka dots and has the cutest ruffle skirt. It’s also long sleeve so you can wear it now and wear it well into spring.

How fun is this vegan leather jacket too?! I love the bold red color…its fun, different, and will definitely bring a POP of color to many of your outfits. I also tied this look together with these red sandals and these adorable white framed sunglasses.

A few of my other favorite Walmart picks include this dress, this dress, and this dress….everything is also linked for you below!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoy shopping these new spring trends from Walmart!

“Mommy, I’ll look just like you” she exclaimed!  Addison jumped with joy and flashed the brightest toothless smile when I showed her the new dress that I picked up for her to wear this Mother’s Day.  It’s not often that Addison will agree to wear exactly what I pick out for her (much less match with me), so seeing and hearing her excitement when I gave her this new LOFT Littles dress made me so happy.

I’m excited to share that LOFT has introduced a Mother/Daughter collection, called LOFT Littles, which features colorful floral prints, bold polka dots, buffalo check, and bright whites.  This new collection is beautiful and perfect for those special Mommy/Daughter moments that you and your daughter share together.

As you know, I love floral prints and will wear them all spring and summer long.  This yellow floral dress immediately caught my eye!  The sweet subtle floral print and bold yellow backdrop drew me in.  The buttons on the front of the dress add visual interest and the tie waist helps create a feminine silhouette.

And can we talk about how darling Addison’s matching dress is?!  It fits her perfectly (she is wearing a 7/8) and she loved twirling in it!  She is beyond excited to have  a dress just like mine and she even asked me if I had a matching dress for her baby doll so she could be the Mommy…sooooo sweet!

One day Addison will not want to match me but until then, I’m going to be picking up some more matching pieces from this new collection!  I think she and I need the floral jumpsuit next!

I know you’ll love the LOFT Littles collection just as much as I do!  Be sure to check out the new collection online and look to see if your local store carries the collection as well! LOFT is also having a Mother’s Day sale right now and everything is 40% off so be sure to shop this weekend!

Wishing all of you amazing Momma’s a wonderful Mother’s Day!  I hope it is as special as you are.  Happy Mother’s Day!

Thank you for stopping by…see you back here real soon.

Special thank you to LOFT for partnering on today’s Mother’s Day post!

Hunter and I are so excited to be back at it with our #HunterBrookeStyled posts. To say that we both have been busy is an understatement. Hunter has traveled to some amazing places over the last few months and is in the process of building a home…YAY! And I…well, I have been here and there, traveling some myself, and managing my schedule along with the school, sport, and social schedules of my kiddos! Sometimes life just gets busy and that’s okay!

When the pantone color of the year, Living Coral, was announced, we agreed that we wanted to style a coral piece for our next installment of #HunterBrookeStyled.

Hunter selected an adorable coral romper that ties at the shoulders and she paired it with this go-to cropped denim jacket and these chunky sandals! She wears rompers so well and I love the touch of cognac that she pulls in with her bag and her sandals! Be sure to check out Hunter’s website here…Hunter Premo.

I chose a cotton striped drop waist dress with a slight ruffle hemline. This dress is so comfortable and perfect for dressing down with flip flops or a great pair of sneakers and of course dressing up with a pair of wedges or even a pair of heels. I also am wearing these fun coral statement earrings and carrying this gorgeous statement summer bag.

Have you picked up an Living Coral pieces this year?! What do you think about this color being the color of the year?

As always, thanks so much for stopping by. See you back here real soon!

The post How I define being an “It Girl” appeared first on KBStyled.

Today’s post was not planned BUT something has been tugging at me to write a post on what it means in today’s society to be an “It Girl”. I’ve spent some time recently watching documentaries on social media usage and the negative impact it can have on each of us…these documentaries have left me feeling sad, confused, and a bit frustrated. Feeling all of these things myself and feeling them even more so for generations to come…including my own children.

I’ve built a brand that requires a presence on social media. A large part of what I do is social media focused and I’ve got to say I’ve personally struggled with managing my own expectations as it pertains to social media. Don’t get me wrong, I am beyond grateful for the opportunities that social media has provided me and I will never take that forgranted but I would be lying if I said, “social media has never had a negative impact on me” because it has and continues to at times.

Social media can suffocate your mind and truly alter the way you perceive things…it can do some major damage and your confidence (and awareness of reality) can suffer. I’ve written a post before on comparison, how I’ve personally struggled with that at times, and how it has robbed me of complete joy. Ever since starting and growing my brand, I’ve had to make a very conscious effort to not allow social media to turn me into a complete basket case. I work at it every day and always remind myself what TRULY matters at the end of the day.

At the end of the day, it DOESN’T matter how many followers you have, how many likes and comments you get per post, how many so called friends you have on Instagram (that’s a whole different topic), what clothes you are wearing, what your hair or makeup looks like, and so on and so forth. What matters is the legacy you leave behind and how kind you are to yourself and to others along the way. Is being an “It Girl” the legacy I want to leave behind…absolutely not. I want to be remembered as someone who truly inspires others, as someone who is kind, gracious, and loving, someone who my daughter will want to be one day (and not because I dress in pretty clothes). I want to always be known for the beauty that comes from within…not the beauty that others may see in a square on Instagram.

We live in a world of so called “It Girls”…women who have given themselves this title or who have been given this title by our society. “It Girl” is defined in different ways but essentially an “It Girl” is a young beautiful woman who has established a so called celebrity status based on her socialite lifestyle.

I don’t think I’m going out on a limb by saying that sooooo many women, especially on Instagram, have coined themselves as an “It Girl”. I personally see a lot of women who portray themselves in this way and who easily make you feel less than worthy of their so called “status”. Social media provides an environment and the perfect recipe for women to establish themselves as the next big thing. There is nothing wrong with being admired and looked up to…we all want that in some way shape or form but what is wrong is when women are rude to or exclude other women because they put themselves on a pedestal and consider themselves to be better than everyone else. I’ve seen it one too many times and this mentality is so disheartening.

What’s even more heartbreaking and frustrating is that so many women feel the need to keep up and turn themselves into something or someone that they are not. So many women are less self aware and in touch with reality because of this “It Girl” world that we live in.

If you truly want to be an “It Girl”, do so by…

  • Being self aware and strive to be the best version of yourself that you can be…don’t alter or change who you are to win the approval of others
  • Be kind to others…never put yourself on a pedestal and consider yourself better than anyone else
  • Let your true beauty shine from within…external appearances only go so far and can change tomorrow…your heart and soul are the true drivers behind your unique beauty
  • Exemplify grace and humility
  • Lift others up and make them feel loved and appreciated
  • Inspire others to be their very best and NEVER make someone else feel unworthy of your attention
  • Establish YOUR legacy…if tomorrow never came, what is your legacy and how do you wish to be remembered

We can ALL be “It Girls”! We don’t need a certain “status” to be an “It Girl”…remember what makes you special and share your personal gifts with others. Above all, remember that social media DOES NOT define who we are nor does it define our value. When it is all said and done…I hope you are ALL remembered by much more than your social media handles, how many followers you have, how many likes and comments you get on a post, and what other “It Girls” you surround yourself with.

What does being an “It Girl” mean to you?

As always, thanks so much for stopping by…see you back here real soon.

Hi fellow Mommas…I’m so excited to share today’s post as I’ve recently been introduced to a new store and I can’t wait to tell you all about it!  Have you heard of or been introduced to Evereve?  It wasn’t until recently that I was introduced to Evereve and I’ve got to tell you, it feels like I’ve met a new friend…a friend that I will have a lifelong friendship with!

I’m not sure about you all, but it isn’t often that I actually go out shopping.  As a busy working Mom of two, I just don’t have the time…or at least I just don’t make the time.  My guess is that you feel the same…after all, there are some things that we end up putting to the side after having children.  My style isn’t one of them but my time spent out shopping is.

I’ve always loved walking from store to store inside of a shopping mall.  My love for this dates back to fond memories that I share with my Mom, shopping with her, my Maw Maw, and my Aunt Marie every Saturday morning growing up.  We would go to the mall, do a little shopping, and then all have lunch together…girl time at its best!  I still love going to the mall but just don’t go as often as I used to…our weekends are typically filled with Reins’ and Addison’s activities.

Every time I have been to the Cool Springs mall in Franklin, I’ve always noticed a store called Evereve but because I didn’t know much about it, I never stopped in.  As an onlooker, I remember looking through their windows thinking how cute everything was and how I should stop in and check out this adorable store.  It wasn’t until recently, within the last couple of weeks, that I actually made the time to go into Evereve to finally see what this brand was all about and I’m sooooooo glad that I did!

I quickly learned that Evereve’s mission is to empower moms to embrace their beauty and power.  The founder of Evereve, Megan Tamte, was a stay-at-home mom, a former 3rd grade Teacher, who had a dream to create a fashion brand specific for moms.  Megan’s dream of encouraging and lifting up other women, specifically moms, to put their best foot forward in a stylish way came true…she created this amazing brand, Evereve that now has over 85 neighborhood stores across the country.  Talk about inspiring!!!

For my first visit to the Franklin, TN Evereve, I scheduled a time to go in and meet with one of their trained Personal Stylist, Shelley.  When I arrived, Shelley was thrilled to welcome me into the store and show me around.  As I was walking around the store, I couldn’t believe that I had not been there before…kicking myself a little, I quickly realized that I have been truly missing out.  I just love their mission and desire to make every mom feel like her best, stylish, self!

My styling appointment with Shelley was amazing!  Before I arrived she spent some time pulling a curated selection of pieces that she thought I would love and she definitely picked, what ended up being, some of the very pieces that I left the store with!  What was even more impressive is learning that every single Evereve Stylist is trained to be able to assist each woman find the right style for her based on things like her lifestyle, body type, preferred styled, etc.  Evereve offers a variety of private label styles and brands and they offer something for every Mom…the working mom, the stay-at-home mom, the mom who wants to look great for date night or girls night out…they truly have something for every type of mom.  Some of the brands that you will find in-store and online include Free People, Hudson, Michael Stars, AG, Sanctuary, Paige, & Sundry (to name a few)!

Shelley spent so much time with me during my styling appointment and she gave me her honest, professional opinion, as I tried on each look!  She helped me with finding the right size and determining which brands suited my body type and shape best.  My goal was to find pieces that were versatile and that I could wear more than one way and we definitely accomplished that during my styling session.  Versatility is important to me and I like to create multiple looks with just a few key pieces.

One of my favorite pieces from my styling session was this adorable floral wrap skirt!  I love the fit and look of a beautiful wrap skirt and I also love how versatile it is.  I styled this skirt 3 different ways to show you all how you can take a look from day to night just by changing your top and your shoes!  For daytime I paired this wrap skirt with this “Good morning sunshine” tee and a great pair of New Balance sneakers.  Another daytime option would be wearing this wrap skirt with the plaid button down top as well!  What I love about both of these tops is that you can also wear them with a great pair of denim shorts for a much more casual daytime look.  For nighttime, I paired this pom pom tee with the wrap skirt and exchanged sneakers for these great black suede peep toe sandals!  I just love the way this wrap skirt paired so nicely with all 3 of these tops from Evereve.  I will be getting a ton of wear out of all of these pieces!

I left my first styling sessions with Evereve with a handful of additional pieces in my bag and I cannot wait to share them with you as well, so stayed for a couple of more looks!  I loved everything that I tried on and Evereve has now become one of my new favorite stores to shop at!!!

Evereve also offers an amazing styling box service call Trendsend which I may try out as well!  An Evereve Stylist will curate a selection of pieces for you based on lifestyle, personal style, body type, etc and send you 2-3 complete outfits via mail whenever you’d like!  The BEST part about their styling box service…there is NO SUBSCRIPTION OR MONTHLY FEE!!!  I don’t know about you but every styling box service that I’ve ever tried charges a subscription fee so I was thrilled to hear that Trendsend is a FREE service.  So…your Stylist selects your 2-3 outfits, mails them to you, and you keep what you LOVE and then mail back (with a pre-paid return label) anything that you decided not to keep.  It’s honestly AMAZING if you ask me!!!

You can also host a girls night in at Evereve and offer a percentage off to those who attend or have a percentage of sales got to a select charity.  I’m sensing a need to plan a girls night out with Evereve very soon…we Momma’s need an excuse to get out and shop sometimes!  Moms…you should also know that they have a children’s play area in every store and they have snacks on hand as well!  Talk about catering to us Mommas!!!

After hearing about Evereve, do you now feel like you have been introduced to a friend that you will have a long relationship with?!  I encourage you to search for a local Evereve near you, using their store locator tool!!!  If you don’t have an Evereve near you, you can still shop their pieces on their website.

I’m a big fan of Evereve now and I’ll tell you that anytime I make a trip to the mall going forward, I will always stop into Evereve and shop for some new pieces.  Shelley will be there to assist and offer her professional styling advice too!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by…I look forward to seeing you back here real soon!

If you are a regular reader of KBStyled, you know how much I love New York & Company!  I’ve shopped from New York & Company for years and I can always find such great pieces at even better prices!  This spring season I have shared some of my favorites from the Eva Mendes and Gabrielle Union spring collections and today, I’m excited to share some of my other favorite pieces from New York & Company!

I’m constantly browsing New York & Company’s website and most recently I have been drawn in by all of the color and fun vibrant prints!  There are so many pieces that have stood out to me and I end up finding that my cart is almost always full!

Here are just a few of the pieces that I am loving right now, many of which I have purchased already or are sitting in my cart just waiting to be purchased!

Gabrielle Union Collection Colorblock Wrap Dress:  If you watch my Instastories, you will have seen me in this dress just yesterday!  I love the vibrant colors and I also love that this is a wrap dress. Wrap dresses are flattering on almost all body types.  This dress is very flattering on and it’s perfect for a night out on the town!

Pleated Striped Halter Maxi Dress:  It’s hard not to be drawn to this dress…the gorgeous vibrant colors immediately catches your eye and the maxi silhouette makes for an easy going fit that is not only comfortable but very flattering.  This dress can be worn for so many different occasions.  Have fun with this one…you can never wear too much color (big fan of color here!).

Black Tassel Accent Shift Dress:  This dress will be the life of the party…whether an office party or a birthday party you will have so much fun wearing this dress.  The form fitted style hugs your body to accentuate you in all of the right places and the layers of tassels break up a classic dress and add a major dose of fun!

Rainbow Stripe Maxi Skirt:  Everyone woman needs at least one amazing maxi skirt in their closet. If you love color as I do, then you will definitely love the bright bold colorful maxi skirt.  The vertical stripe elongates your look as well…major win in my book!  You can dress this skirt up or down making it such a versatile piece for your wardrobe.  If you prefer pants…check out these stripe crop palazzo pants!

Stripe Ruffle V-Neck Wrap Dress:  Can you tell I have a thing for stripes?!  They are just so classic!  There is so much to love about this dress…the wrap silhouette (again, so figure flattering for most), the black and white classic stripe, and the ruffle detail!  This will be a great addition to your closet and can also be dressed up or dressed down a bit.

White Eyelet Maxi Dress:  If you love a great white dress for spring & summer, this white eyelet maxi dress is the perfect dress.  I love the off the shoulder style and the eyelet detail is absolutely gorgeous!

Floral Tie-Front Romper:  Okay…you know I couldn’t mention my favorites without having at least one floral piece in my list.  I love the bold red backdrop of this floral romper and the floral/paisley print is subtle yet noticeable!  I also love a great romper and this one gets 5 stars!

Stripe Ruffle Maxi Skirt:  I am absolutely smitten with this stripe ruffle maxi skirt!  I recently saw this on their site and had to have it.  The color and stripe are just perfect and the ruffles add such a beautiful feminine touch.  Similar to wrap dresses, wrap skirts are also flattering on most!  Even better, this skirt is on sale and in my opinion, a must have!  Pair it with this adorable white cold shoulder blouse!

Green Floral Strapless Sheath Dress:  You say floral, strapless, and sheath in the same sentence and my reply is…I’ll take it!  This figure hugging sheath dress creates a very feminine and beautiful silhouette.  The bold floral print on a gorgeous green backdrop make this dress a total knockout!  Have some weddings or showers to attend this summer?  This dress is perfect for those occasions and so many more!

Gabrielle Union Collection Stripe Paperbag-waist short: I wore these shorts yesterday in my Instastories and so many of you had questions about them.  Paperbag-waist shorts are trending this season so I was happy to have had such a good experience with my very first pair.  They fit very well and aren’t super short either!  Wear these to the soccer fields on the weekends and then out at night with some heels for a girls night out look!

As you can see, there are soooooo many great pieces this spring from New York & Company!  Let me know what you decide to get for yourself and stay tuned as I’ll be sharing posts very soon featuring several of the pieces that I have mentioned today!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great day.  See you back here real soon!

There’s just something about a striped dress that makes me daydream about being on vacation with my family!  Stripes are always so classic and to me, they always feel a bit nautical as well.  Soon enough we will be at the beach and I can assure you this navy and white striped dress will be in my suitcase!

This gorgeous striped dress is just one of many FAB dresses from the new Gabrielle Union for New York and Company spring collection.  I saw Gabrielle where this dress on the today show with Kathie Lee and Hoda and she looked so stunning and classy in it…I knew I had to order one for myself!
Her spring collection features classic pieces that can be dressed up and dressed down.  What I love about her spring collection is that the silhouettes, colors, and overall designs are timeless and  you will be able to wear these pieces from spring season to spring season…year after year!
As you can see, I paired this Striped Kimono Dress with a red mule and I plan to pair it with a variety of colors to change up my look a bit.  The options are endless with this gorgeous dress.  You can truly dress it up as much as you would like or dress it down.  To dress it down a bit, I would pair it with a pair of flat sandals and a boater’s hat.  Dress it up even more with high heels and bold statement jewelry for an evening out!
This Maxi Shirtdress is also one of my favorite from the collection.  It comes in both white and green and I personally love it in white.  A long white shirtdress is not only timeless and classic but it is also the most perfect blank slate for pops of color with your shoes/accessories.   Again, the options to dress this up or down and to add a variety of pops of color are endless!
And how fun (and gorgeous) is this Reversible Kimono?!  I love it paired with this Coral Halter Jumpsuit!  These two pieces compliment each other so well.  You can wear the two for work or wear them separately…the simon with denim and a tank and the halter jumpsuit on its own!
Where could you see yourself wearing this striped dress or any of the pieces from the new Gabrielle Union for New York and Company spring collection?!
Glad that my daydream will soon become a reality…I’m ready to pack my bags for the beach and wear   this striped dress while on vacation!
As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

I recently attended the rewardStyle conference in Dallas, which was such a wonderful experience, and today, I’m sharing my first look that I wore to the opening night cocktail pool party with Sole Society
The cocktail party took place at the rooftop pool of Hotel Crescent Court in Uptown Dallas, which is also where we stayed for the conference.  If you ever visit Dallas, I highly recommend this hotel…it was fabulous!
When planning for my first look, I knew I wanted something that felt like resort wear but that was a bit dressier and I picked this gorgeous fun flirty one shoulder jumpsuit.  This jumpsuit is vibrantly bold with its all over floral print and it is such a stand out piece!
This jumpsuit is perfect for summer vacations, a summer wedding, or for any other occasion where you may want to wear something a bit more bold!  And it is currently on major sale…marked down to $115 until 5/7/17.  I found that it runs true to size, I’m wearing a size 4.  I’m 5′ 4″ so I did end up having the legs hemmed a little bit and I paired the jumpsuit with some gold strappy heels.
As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great start to your week!

It’s Good Friday and I’m busy prepping for Easter Sunday!  Easter Sunday is not only special to my family because of our faith but it is also special to our family because the Easter Bunny lives on in the eyes of our little ones.  I cherish this time because they are getting older and it won’t be long before the Easter Bunny becomes Momma Bunny in their eyes (I want them to stay little and innocent forever).  The way I see it…they better always believe if they want the goodies!

Not only do our kiddos look forward to the Easter Bunny’s arrival but I also like to treat myself to a little something every year…a new Easter Sunday dress!  This year the “Bunny” delivered a special surprise on my doorstep direct from New York & Company…this stunning “Sabine Fringe Dress”!

There is so much to LOVE about this dress…the fringe detail, the mesh neckline, the sequin stripes, the belted waistline, and the overall classic chic feminine style.  This dress is even more stunning in-person…it really is so unique and will be one of those dresses that you can wear for a variety of occasions.

New York & Company has some of the most gorgeous spring dresses and you’ve got to check out Eva Mendes’ spring collection too!  Now is the time to pick up some gorgeous dresses while New York & Company is running one of their biggest promotions!

What are your Easter Sunday plans and do you treat yourself to a new dress each year?

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend!  Wishing those who celebrate a very Happy & Blessed Easter Sunday!

Casual spring style has never been so easy…a floral bomber jacket paired with distressed boyfriend jeans and sneakers has most recently been my go-to casual weekend wear.  This gorgeous floral bomber from Fair Child can easily be dressed up too!  Take it from day to night by pairing it with a sleek dress, some heels, and a bold clutch.
And I love that Karen Fairchild of “Little Big Town” is the Designer behind her brand Fair Child.  She introduces a collection each Spring & Fall…you can see more of her collection HERE!
As always, thanks so much for stopping by…have a great start to your week!
