Summer 2020 is a little different than we pictured but we have done everything possible to make it fun and keep Reins and Addison busy and most importantly…HAPPY!

We haven’t been able to travel as much as we had planned but we did get to enjoy a summer staycation at the Gaylord Opryland Resort which just so happens to be one of our absolute favorite places to visit!!! I’m sharing a recap of our stay PLUS a very special discount for Tennessee residents and non-residents!

We always feel such a warm welcome from the Gaylord Opryland Resort staff and each and every stay at the resort always feels like we are truly away on vacation…it was a wonderful weekend together as a family. I encourage you to plan a visit soon as I know you will enjoy your stay as much as we did.

Gaylord Opryland Resort is truly doing everything possible to ensure the safety of their guests during this time. They are ensuring that guests wear masks and social distance when necessary. Everything is sanitized and VERY clean. We were truly impressed with the additional measures that have been put in place at SoundWaves to keep everyone safe and to ensure everything stays sanitized and clean. We felt very safe while enjoying our staycation.

We enjoyed dinner at Cascades American Cafe which is in the Cascades atrium and we also enjoyed gelato each evening from Bravo. Delta Marketplace was open, which was a great spot for breakfast and snacks and the pizzeria, Paisano’s was also open. SoundWaves has a wide variety of delicious options and we really enjoyed the tacos, burgers, pizza, and salads!

While there, I also was able to enjoy a Swedish massage at the Relache spa! it was such a wonderful massage and I left our staycation feeling relaxed and well rested. I was required to wear a mask during my massage…guidelines around masks are updated regularly so be sure to ask about this when booking your spa treatment.

While there…don’t forget to enjoy a tour on the Delta Riverboat as well. This is a short cruise around the Delta atrium where you learn a lot about the resort. One of the most interesting facts is that the oldest tree at the resort is 106 years old!

For anyone thinking of planning a staycation or traveling in for a vacation at Gaylord Opryland Resort, I’m super excited to share a special SoundWaves Experience Package offer with you!

For the past few years, a group of local friends, other content creators, have gotten together before Christmas to enjoy the holidays together. Sometimes it includes gathering at someones home, lunch out together, a secret Santa exchange, etc and this year we decided to come together for something more meaningful…a Christmas Giveback Gathering.

I found a local organization called, Give a little Nashville, who allows you to adopt children from their list to buy Christmas gifts for. I was happy to find a local organization where we could adopt 19 children in total, assign one child per person, shop and buy for that child (based off of the child’s wish list), and then come together as a group to wrap presents, enjoy a charcuterie board by the oh so talented Nashville Cheese Gal, and some fellowship with one another.

We always enjoy spending time together and this was a much more meaningful way to spend our time this year and hopefully for years to come. My plan is to get us together each December…we will work with a local organization to give back and make a difference in other peoples lives.

I encourage everyone to consider doing the same or something similar in their community. You don’t have to wait for Christmas to gather some friends together to give back…you can do it any time of the year!

We are all so happy to know that 19 children are going to receive toys from their wishlist this Christmas. Picturing their faces as they open their presents makes my heart so so happy. It’s so rewarding to give to others and make a difference in another persons life…even if its from afar. We should all try to spread more kindness any chance that we get.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by…see you back here real soon!

Today’s post is in partnership with CoolSculpting.  All opinions are 100% my own and I’m sharing my own personal experience about my CoolSculpting treatments…individual experiences may vary.

So what is CoolSculpting?!

“The CoolSculpting fat-freezing procedure is the only FDA-cleared,* non-surgical fat-reduction treatment that uses controlled cooling to eliminate stubborn fat that resists all efforts through diet and exercise. The results are proven, noticeable, and lasting—so you’ll look great from every angle.”

When CoolSculpting approached me about partnering I immediately said YES YES YES!  To be honest, I had been giving CoolSculpting a lot of thought and had been spending a lot of time researching this body sculpting treatment.  Being a mom of 2, I have never seemed to be able to get rid of some stubborn belly fat and even though I follow a healthy eating and exercise plan, the belly fat just wouldn’t go away.  I was becoming more and more frustrated that I wasn’t seeing the results of all of my hard work.  I honestly wasn’t even sure if I would be a good candidate for CoolSculpting because there wasn’t much belly fat to treat but come to find out, I was the perfect candidate (YAY for me) and I had just the right amount of belly fat.

My consultation with Tammy at Dr. Beisman’s office went wonderfully and she reassured me that I was a great candidate and that I should be pleased with my results.  We talked in depth about my current lifestyle and how I try to maintain a balanced diet and workout schedule as well as what areas I would like to treat.  Tammy was very thorough in explaining the CoolSculpting treatment and in fact, she put together a treatment plan for me during our consultation.  We decided to treat my lower abdomen, flanks, love handles, and inner thighs.  She also explained what I should expect during the treatment and what to expect after the treatment was complete.  I left my consultation feeling confident in my decision to have CoolSculpting.  If you are considering having this done, I encourage you to find someone with years of experience as Tammy has and ensure that you are comfortable with your treatment plan before having the treatment done.

But you aren’t overweight…so why did you decide to have CoolSculpting?!

My decision to have CoolSculpting was based on my desire to sculpt the stubborn areas of my abdomen…the areas that diet and exercise weren’t improving as I would like for them to.  CoolSculpting is not a weight loss treatment…it is a treatment to help you sculpt your body and help break through stubborn fat.  I continue to maintain a healthy lifestyle and CoolSculpting was an opportunity to elevate the results I would like to see from all of my hard work.  I must confess, I’ve had a few “not so cool” moments over the years where I’ve worked out twice a day, consumed only juice for as long as a week, and have dieted many times trying my best to break through the stubborn belly fat.  CoolSculpting was a much “cooler” option than having to cut out EVERYTHING that I love!

My first treatment was scheduled two weeks after my consultation.  During that two weeks before being treated, I maintained my healthy eating and exercise routine.  The night before my scheduled treatment, I put together a little bag to take with me to Dr. Beisman’s office because I was going to be there for the majority of the day since we were going to be treating all areas as outlined in my treatment plan on the same day.  I packed my laptop, a book to read, some magazines, and a neck pillow.  Most offices will have a neck pillow and a nice warm blanket to drape over you during your treatment so you don’t need to take much.  I just wanted to keep myself busy while there!

The day of my treatment, I arrived in the morning and I was immediately greeted and taken back to the CoolSculpting room to get situated and to make myself at home.  I then had my “before” pictures taken and shortly after we got started with my first treatment areas…my lower abdomen and love handles.

What areas did you have treated and how long does it take?!

I had a total of 8 CoolSculpting cycles completed on the day of my treatment.  As I mentioned above, we started with one side of my lower abdomen and one side of my love handles.  The applicator was placed on the treatment areas and remained in position for a full hour.  Once those two areas were complete, we then moved to the opposite side of my lower abdomen and the opposite side of my love handles and again, the areas were treated for an hour.  Next we treated my flanks and each side was treated for a full hour.  After treating my flanks, we then treated my inner thighs and each thigh was treated for 35 minutes.  In between each cycle, the area must be massaged for 2 minutes to break up the fat cells.

During each treatment, I was very comfortable and covered up to remain warm.  Tammy, the nurse performing my treatment, ensured that I was as comfortable as possible every step of the way.

What did CoolSculpting feel like and does it hurt?!

This question is probably one of the most frequent questions that I have received already so I’d like to help you better understand, at least from my experience, what it felt like.  CoolSculpting is a fat freezing treatment so targeted fat cells are being frozen.  At first, once the applicator is placed on your skin and the applicator suctions to your skin, it feels a bit uncomfortable.  The freezing process starts and within about 5 minutes you become a bit numb to the freezing sensation.  I personally became much more comfortable after about the first 5 minutes.  Once your treatment is complete and the applicator is removed, your skin, nerves, etc are beginning to wake back up.  This is also when the treated area must be massaged to help break up the fat cells.  This “wake up” process was probably the most uncomfortable for me…it felt like a cramp but it subsided within just a few minutes.  Although somewhat uncomfortable, it was completely tolerable and I would 100% do it again!

What should I expect post treatment?!

I was rather sore post treatment and rested the evening of my treatment and the following day.  There is truly little to no “down time” after CoolSculpting but everyone’s body reacts differently and mine told me to rest.  The treated areas are a bit swollen immediately following the treatment and very tender to the touch.  They feel as if they have been bruised.  The treated areas will also be numb for about 2-3 weeks post treatment.  Each area will continue to be tender to the touch for a while as well but the tenderness and numbness will subside and you will feel completely normal afterwards.

Are results immediate and do they last?!

You will begin to see results within in as little as 6 weeks post treatment, with 12 weeks being the average timeframe of when you should expect to see full results.  I am several weeks in and I honestly feel like I am already seeing great results.  I feel and look leaner and I don’t have as much tummy budge!  I’m super excited to see my full results at 12 weeks and will be sharing another post with you once I have hit the 12 week mark!  Be sure to check back here as I will be keeping you informed with images of my full results as well!

Your results are long lasting but you do need to maintain a healthy lifestyle post CoolSculpting.  If you gain weight, your remaining fat cells will expand, but you will not see gain in the treated areas!

My overall first experience with CoolSculpting at Dr. Beisman’s office was amazing and I am beyond thrilled that I made the decision to move forward with it.  I recommend this treatment to anyone who is looking to sculpt their problem areas in order to enhance their figure.  I’ve been very pleased with my personal results up to this point!

If you are interested in CoolSculpting, I encourage you to learn more information here: https://www.CoolSculpting.com/what-is-CoolSculpting/fat-reduction-vs-weight-loss/.  Please feel free to ask me any questions, I am more than happy to answer!

Special thank you to CoolSculpting, Dr. Beisman, and Tammy for making my first CoolSculpting treatment so enjoyable!!!

As always, thank you for stopping by and I will see you back here real soon!

We are just a couple of weeks away until the calendar “officially” allows us to celebrate fall, although if you are anything like me, I like to celebrate things early so in my opinion, it’s already fall!  The minute Labor Day passes and college football starts, my mind is set on fall and the cooler temps that are surely right around the corner.  With that being said, I’m gearing up and adding some classic staples to my closet!

I’m thrilled to be sharing another #HUNTERBROOKESTYLED post with you all!  If you are new here, I team up with Hunter Premo each month to show you how to style pieces in your 20’s and 30’s.  Hunter and I find identical or similar pieces that we love and add our own twist to it.  This month we are so excited to be partnering with one of our absolute FAVORITE local Nashville brands…ABLE!  We have both loved and adored ABLE for several years so when they expressed interest in partnering, we immediately said YES!

What I love most about ABLE’s pieces is that they are simple, classic, high quality, and are the perfect everyday staples for your closet.  What I love even more about ABLE is their mission which is to end generational poverty by providing economic opportunity to women who have overcome a variety of challenging life circumstances.  Their pieces are named after many of the heroic women that they employee and some of their pieces have actually been designed by these women as well.

I don’t know about you, but I am ALL ABOUT supporting philanthropic causes, especially one that supports women and provides them with an opportunity to enrich their own lives.  With each purchase, I feel confident in the fact that I’m supporting such a powerful and life changing mission!  Head HERE to read more about ABLE’s story!  If you live in Nashville or are planning to visit, I highly encourage you to visit ABLE’s flagship store in The Nation’s area.

Let’s chat a little bit about our looks!  What I love about Hunter’s look is that it is the perfect casual everyday outfit.  Isn’t she adorable?! She added a rancher hat and a great neck scarf to to keep with a more casual theme and I love the polished boho vibe of her look.  I dressed mine up a bit with a higher heeled boot (how amazing are these Perez Boots by the way?!), the Mare Crossbody bag (which can also be carried as a clutch by just tucking the strap inside…love a dual purpose bag!), and finishing off my look with these gold Ivy Hoop earrings and the Eden Necklace (both which are perfect for everyday wear)!

Of course we both fell head over heels for this military jacket once we tried it on!   It’s one of those jackets that you will find yourself grabbing for time and time again.  It’s truly the perfect layering jacket for the fall season and it pairs well with these The Slouch denim (mine are the clemente wash) but it will also pair nicely over floral dresses as well (you all know how much I love floral dresses).  I see this military jacket as my next denim jacket (y’all know how much I love my ABLE denim jackets) and the color goes with everything!  Talk about the PERFECT closet staple!  For a size reference, I am wearing a small in the military jacket, a small in Karina V-Neck tee, my normal denim size in The Slouch denim, and normal shoe size in the Perez Boot.

I hope you will take a moment to explore ABLE…I promise you won’t be disappointed and if anything, you will become a devout repeat customer!

To check out Hunter’s look and to read what she has to say about our #HUNTERBROOKESTYLED post with ABLE, head HERE!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by…see you back here real soon!

Nestled right outside of Franklin, TN you will find the most beautiful dahlia flower garden…Natchez Glen House!  I recently spent time at this beautiful garden and it was such a wonderful experience.  Surrounded by over 5,000 dahlia’s, I found myself feeling overwhelmed by the beauty and magic of this special place.  It’s as if I discovered a hidden treasure…one that I don’t want to keep hidden because I want so many others to be able to experience the magic too!

Natchez Glan House welcome’s their guests, by reservation, to come to the gardens and fill a bucket with 20-25 dahlia’s.  You may also cut roses from their rose garden should you wish to take home a mix of dahlia’s and roses.  The garden showcases such a large variation of dahlia’s so you can create a beautiful colorful bouquet.  I was immediately drawn to the pinks, plums, and corals!

If you live in Nashville, Franklin, or any of the surrounding areas (or if you are planning to visit), I highly recommend that you reserve a time to visit Natchez Glen House dahlia flower garden and cut your own assortment of flowers.  The flowers will be blooming through October and you can reserve a spot on their website, www.natchezglen.com!  Soak in the beauty of your surroundings while there and enjoy the magic of a very unique experience…one that you will always remember!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I’ll see you back here real soon!

What is on your summer bucket list this year?!  As a family, we have made several…like camping in our backyard, crab hunting at the beach, flying kites, bike riding, and having lots of water balloon fights.  Peter and I also have our own list, which includes at least one picnic date night at Arrington Vineyards!

I’ve talked about our love for Arrington Vineyards before and of course I have to talk about it again because now is the perfect time to spend a long evening out at the vineyards.  I’ll never forget our first date night at Arrington and our first family day date to the vineyards as well…both such wonderful memories!

Arrington is not only perfect for date nights and family outings but it is also perfect for a girls night, a couples hang, etc…whomever you may surround yourself with, time spent at Arrington Vineyards is time well spent.

After sharing my first charcuterie board that I made at home for Easter (you can see that post HERE), I’ve had an affection for meat and cheese boards.  When packing for a picnic, meats, cheeses, fruits, and nuts are ideal.  They are easy to pack, fulfilling, and delicious when paired with wine (and I’ve got to say, Arrington has some of THE BEST wine)!  I personally love their blackberry wine, which is a sweeter wine!  Don’t forget some macaroons…such a sweet way to wrap up your picnic!

Nashville has so much to offer and sometimes it is nice to get off the beaten path and spend time away from all of the hustle and bustle.  I don’t know about you all but I’m intentionally trying to slow our family down this summer and really soak up our time together!

Have you been to Arrington Vineyards before?!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!  See you back here real soon!

There is so much more to this red dress than just a bright bold color, a figure flattering silhouette, and a beautiful ruffle detail.  This dress has meaning…the reason I wear this red dress HAS meaning and it is all about Addison!
For those of you who have been regular visitors to KBStyled, you will most likely recall “Addison’s heart story” that I have shared for the last 2 years.
You see, Addison was born with a heart defect…her heart was a little less than perfect although she seemed absolutely PERFECT in our eyes.  From the day she was born, there was always a dark cloud that followed us around knowing that one day, Addison’s tiny heart would have to be fixed.  What this meant is that our sweet baby girl had to undergo open heart surgery to mend her broken heart.
Surgery day came and went with much success and she is a thriving, spirited, funny, adventurous, loving, and smart 6 year old!  Read more about our “Addison’s heart story” HERE!
Having gone through this experience with our sweet little girl we have become more aware about how we can give back in a way that benefits & supports others who may have a similar condition or who may have overcome heart related health issues.
For the last several years I have been involved with our local American Heart Association chapter.  Being able to share Addison’s story and use my voice through KBStyled has been such a blessing.
Giving back to the American Heart Association is important to me and my family.  This year marks my 3rd year hosting an event with Kendra Scott to benefit the American Heart Association.
On 2/13/18, I will be hosting an “give back” event with Nashville’s local Kendra Scott where a percentage of the proceeds will be donated back to the American Heart Association.  My hope in doing this is that I will bring more awareness both locally and nationally.
I’ve included the details for our event below!  You don’t have to be local to get involved.  If you wish to contribute to this cause, you are welcome to contact our local Kendra Scott store and purchase the “Addison earrings” (see pic below) or any other item so the proceeds will go to the Nashville American Heart Association.

To Order:

Kendra Scott Nashville
“Addison” earrings or any other item
Call: 1-615-600-4353
Every bit of involvement makes a difference!  Last year I heard from so many of you with personal heart health related stories and I imagine there are many stories to share.
If you live locally, I’d love for you to come out the evening of the event to meet, enjoy an evening out, and support a great cause!  I hope to see you there!
On behalf of Addison and our family, thank you for letting me share a bit about her story with you!  I appreciate you taking the time to read today’s post and if you ever wish to share your own personal story, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
