We finally finished our home office and could not be more thrilled with the way it turned out! My only regret is not having more before after images to share with you so you can get the full picture of how dramatically this space in our home has changed. I’m excited to share today’s post as this home office makeover has been a long time coming…nearly 5 years to be exact!

We moved into our home almost 5 years ago and for whatever reason, at the time, our office space was not our biggest priority. We wanted to take our time decorating and making wise decisions on how we transformed each space so we began with putting our love and attention into other rooms. At the time, I truly did not have a vision for our office and was okay letting the space sit unfurnished and undecorated…it was a catch-all for so many years and was the collector of many miscellaneous things. I never really LOVED letting this room collect things and dust (as it is the first room on the right when you walk in our front door) but again, I didn’t want to just fill it with things when my vision wasn’t clear.

The very first thing I updated in this room was the light fixture…I chose this beautiful Cascade Capiz Chandelier from Shades of Light. It was as if I was setting the stage for what’s to come. I love this chandelier so much and is truly one of my favorite accents in our office. Shades of Light has such a beautiful high quality assortment of lighting…I love their light fixtures so much that I ended up buying our matte black wall sconces from them as well.

I then decided that we needed to have built-in office shelving installed but first…the wall had to be wallpapered with a subtle burlap wallpaper. I wanted the wall behind the built-ins to be textured and special and I love how it turned out. Our carpenter then came in and created the perfect built-ins that we designed together and he did such a beautiful job. The gold/acrylic knobs are from a shop I found on Etsy called Hook & Knob. They are absolutely beautiful and they tie in with the gold on the chandelier.

Next up was the task of filling all of the books shelves with meaningful pictures and decorative items. This was the most fun part of decorating our office but also the most tedious as I knew what I was looking for…it was just a matter of finding the items I envisioned filling these spaces. I started my search on Etsy and found these beautiful unbound books. They came as a set off 25 so I was able to decorate almost all of the shelves with these books. I also discovered an Artist by the name of Maren Devine, whom I had not heard of before, and immediately fell in love with her artwork. I ordered several pieces of her artwork to fill our shelves as well.

I also ordered two focal artwork pieces from one of my all time favorite artist, Lindsay Sherbondy, of Lindsay Letters Co. Her artwork has such soul and meaning to each and every piece and I love how the colors of these two pieces tie in so nicely with the rest of our office space. They are the focal point of this space and are most certainly conversation starters too!

I used these gold and white frames to showcase pictures of our family both on our shelves and on our walls. These frames are classy, beautiful, and affordable. We use these frames throughout our home…they are the BEST!

The buffalo plaid bench that we purchased was such a great find but is no longer available…I did find this one that I love just as much in case you are interested in something similar. This tufted ottoman is the perfect centerpiece for this space! I also love mixing prints so I picked out these leopard print pillow covers to place on the buffalo plaid bench! Another favorite piece in our office is my desk chair…it is the Pennington Desk Chair from Ballard Designs. It is custom made and I selected the Serengeti Camel fabric, which I absolutely LOVE!

I sourced the rest of our decor from Kirkland’s, Target, At Home, Etsy, Ballard Designs, Anthropologie, and Target. My rug is from Rugs USA, which is my favorite online place to find beautiful and affordable rugs…in fact, almost every rug in our home is from Rugs USA.

I’ve linked up the items that are still available plus some similar decor items. There are still a few simple additions we’d like to add to our office, included either some photos or artwork around the desk but for now, we are sitting back and enjoying the room that came to life after almost 5 years of trying to decide how to decorate it! Lesson learned…good things are worth the wait!

I appreciate you stopping by today and do hope you found some inspiration for your home office as well. See you back here real soon…take care.

WELCOME and Merry Christmas to you and yours! This year has brought many challenges but is has also been filled with so many blessings. It has been a year that we will always remember for so many reasons and one of the things we will remember most is the gift of time we were given back with our precious family.

We have spent more time together this year, just the 4 of us…maybe more than we ever have. I always pray for time to slow down as we watch Reins and Addison growing up so quickly and I feel as if that prayer was answered this year. Time was a bit slower, our schedules were a bit less busy, and we were together so much more doing the things we love most. I will forever be grateful that 2020 brought us the gift of time.

We’ve also spent a lot more time at home this year and I’ve truly found so much comfort in the home that we love and cherish so much. It is a home filled with love, laughter, and memories that will always be held tightly in our hearts. We’ve nested, snuggled, improved, decorated, and loved each other so much within these walls.

Today I’m excited to share Our Christmas Home with you. I’ve always strived to create a home that feels warm, welcoming, and comfortable…a home that our children love being in and a home that all who visit feel the love and warmth that we put into it. I decorated nearly every corner of our home this year for Christmas…it brought me so much joy!

We’ve captured much of our home in a Christmas photo journal and I’m sharing that with you today. We didn’t capture every little nook but I do hope you will enjoy this peek into a home that is filled with love, joy, and peace…Our Christmas Home.

Sending our love and wishes for a beautiful holiday season and for a blessed 2021. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year!

Thanks so very much for stopping by and visiting Our Christmas Home! Our Christmas/holiday decor is from the following: At Home, Hobby Lobby, Kirkland’s, Michael’s, MacKenzie-Childs, Grandin Road, Crate & Barrel, Walmart, Lindsay Letters, and Target.

See you back here real soon!

Home is where it’s at this holiday season! With our home decorated for Christmas, our Christmas trees twinkling, and our favorite Christmas movies playing, we have found ourselves cozying up at home as much as possible. I personally have been nesting at home even more now and we have all enjoyed a slower pace this holiday season.

Reins and Addison will be out of school soon for Christmas break and we have lots of plans too snuggle, watch our favorite movies, drink hot chocolate, play board games, and just spend quality time together as a family.

One of our absolute favorite rooms to spend time in is our sunroom. It’s beautiful during the daytime and magical at nighttime with our Christmas tree lit and the comforts of a holiday home surrounding us.

Creating a cozy, warm, holiday retreat in our sunroom was possible with Walmart’s affordable holiday home decor. Pillows immediately cozy up any space so I picked these Mainstay Plaid Decorative Pillows, these Better Homes & Gardens Ombre Fur Pillows, these Better Homes and Gardens Tufted Trellis Pillows, and these Holiday Time woodland creatures throw pillows. They compliment our holiday woodland theme in our sunroom so well and they are just sooooo cute!

Lanterns and candles instantly add warmth to a space as well and I loved these Better Homes & Gardens lanterns. They are available in white wash and rustic wood and they also come in a couple of different sizes.

For me, nesting also means cozying up in holiday pajamas as often as possible and I have a feeling we will all be wearing our pj’s a lot for the next few weeks. This Secret Treasures pj set is one of my favorites…the pattern is so cute (presents all over), they are so comfortable, they come with a pair of cozy socks, AND the set is only $14!

Before settling in for your favorite Christmas movie, be sure to make some hot chocolate in these adorable Holiday Time sweater mugs. They come as a set of 3 for only $10! Don’t forget your whipped cream, marshmallows, and chocolate chips!

Consider Walmart your cozy home & holiday decor destination! You can create snuggle-up-worthy spaces of your own that will bring you and your family so much joy all holiday and winter season long!

Be sure to check out Walmart’s holiday home decor! You may just find that you have a package on your doorstep in the blink of an eye.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by…see you back here real soon!

Creepy or cute?! We tend to decorate a bit more on the creepy side for Halloween because everything is pretty cute around here the rest of the year! Fall is our absolute favorite time of year and we love getting into the spirit from Halloween all the way through the New Year.

We’ve also been enjoying more time at home this year and it has been so nice to be able to be home to enjoy our decorations more.

We typically decorate our mantle, a few console tables, as well as our front porch for Halloween and over the years, we have gathered a nice little collection of skeleton, spider, and creepy/crawly decorations. Even our scared stiff friend, Scully, makes and appearance every Halloween.

This years Halloween costume is tied to Pirates of the Caribbean (I can’t wait to share it with you) so naturally there must be skeletons, treasure, and Pirates booty everywhere. I will be sharing some delicious Halloween sweet treats this coming week as well so stay tuned.

I shopped for our Halloween Decor at At Home, Michael’s, Kirkland’s, and Amazon. Each retailer had such an amazing selection of Halloween decor and I was able to find everything we needed to create our spooky, creepy, skeletal spaces.

Do you love to decorate for Halloween?!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by…check back soon for more Halloween posts!

Today I’m excited to share how we turned a small unused patio space in our backyard into one of our favorite new spaces to sit and watch the sunset with new outdoor furniture and decor from Walmart!

I had a general idea of how I wanted this small space to look and once I began browsing outdoor furniture on Walmart’s DIY & DONE page, my vision started coming to life.

Immediately, I found myself gravitating towards these gorgeous Safavieh Mopani Outdoor Adirondack chairs with a natural finish. Not only are they affordable but they are excellent quality and look even more beautiful in person. They are all-weather chairs which makes them perfect for any and every outdoor space.

I also picked out this Safavieh outdoor area rug in a 5×8 size which adds not only visual interest with its geometric quatrefoil pattern but it also adds a neutral pop of color.

This small space was complete once adding in a concrete accent table, some Better Homes & Gardens planters & plant stands, as well as some beautiful flowers from Walmart’s garden center. We are so thrilled with how this space turned out!

Walmart has such a broad range of outdoor furniture and decor to fit everyone’s personal style and budget! Browsing Walmart’s DIY & DONE page will definitely inspire you to create an inviting outdoor space of your own!

Sometimes there are just “things” that you cannot take your attention off of until you find a solution…for me, that was our ugly white return vent covers that have always been so visible in our living room. They were total eye sores and often times, the subject of my attention. I became obsessed with them and not in a good way. I was determined to find a decorative return vent cover that I loved and that would turn these eye sores into something much more polished and beautiful. After all, if we must have vent returns in our living space, why not make the covers decorative and gorgeous!

Google was my best friend when searching for decorative vent return covers and it didn’t take me long to stumble across a company called Fancy Vents. I immediately thought…”well, what do we have here…I like the name of these company and it sounds like they may have exactly what I’m looking for”!!! Sure enough, THEY DID and I’m pretty sure I did a little happy dance when I clicked onto their website and saw how gorgeous their vents were. I mean, the before and after photos sold me and I knew that I needed to place an order STAT!!!

As I started reading more about Fancy Vents, I learned that they are a family owned company, Husband and Wife duo, who have been in business for over 10 years. Their custom vents are handmade from start to finish and are made of steel and cast iron with a power coated finish for a high quality durable lifetime product. They customize each vent to fit your opening perfectly and they place top priority on quality and customer service. What I thought was even more cool is that they are a local TN small business and I am always thrilled to support local businesses. Fancy Vents also ships nationwide so anyone can order a customized vent return cover (or two) and they will ship the vent/s to you!

Our return openings are 20×30 and we selected the “Laura” style in dark bronze. We felt that this particular style looked a bit more modern and blended nicely with the decor in our home and the dark bronze color coordinated perfectly with our staircase and some of the other fixtures in this particular space as well.

We were so pleased with how easy it was to communicate and work with Fancy Vents. Before ordering our vents, I sent pictures of our space and asked for their guidance on the style vent we should consider. Chelsi and Kurtis, the owners, offered their honest feedback and helped guide us in our decision. I truly appreciated the time they took to help us with our decision. After placing our order, we received our vents within 3 weeks, which is such a quick turnaround for a high quality handmade product.

Installing the vent covers was easy to do and changing the filter is simple as well. Having these custom vent covers from Fancy Vents has completely transformed our space and we are beyond thrilled with them! We are no longer looking at builder grade white eye sores but instead looking at our gorgeous custom handmade vent return covers.

Take a look at your white return vent covers and then head over to Fancy Vents…I promise you will want to change them as fast as you can! If you want to transform the look of your space, adding a custom Fancy Vents return vent cover is the way to do that! We are so happy that we found Fancy Vents and I want everyone to know about them…they are truly the best return vent covers on the market.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by…see you back here real soon!

I’m excited to share today’s Pineapple Casserole Thanksgiving Recipe because it’s a bit out of the box and not your traditional Thanksgiving meal menu item.  However, it has been a part of my family’s Thanksgiving meal for many years and in fact, this is my Dad’s recipe that he shared with me many years ago.

I remember trying this for the first time many Thanksgivings ago, at first turning up my nose up at it, but then immediately loving it once I tried it.  The combination of ingredients go so well together and it is the perfect little something sweet as you enjoy a lot of other savory dishes during your Thanksgiving meal.  Word to the wise…don’t knock it until you have tried it!

This recipe is delicious and indulgent…perfect for a Thanksgiving feast!

Pineapple Casserole

  • 1 1/2 cans of large pineapple chunks (drained) *you can use two full cans if you would like a bit more pineapple and of course double the recipe if making this for a larger crowd
  • 6 tablespoons of white all purpose flour
  • 8 ounces (2 cups) of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 sleeve of Ritz crackers
  • 3/4 stick of melted butter

Preheat oven to 375.  Mix the drained pineapple chunks, sharp cheddar cheese, flour, and sugar in a bowl until well blended.  Spread the mixture into a casserole dish.  Crumble the Ritz crackers (I leave them in the sleeve and squeeze all of the crackers until finely crumbled) and melt the 3/4 stick of butter.  Mix the Ritz cracker crumbles and butter together and then sprinkle on top of the pineapple mixture in your casserole dish.  Bake for 25 minutes and let cool for a 5-10 minutes before serving.  Take your first bite and enjoy my friends!

I’d love to hear if you decide to try this recipe!  It has become one of our family favorites and I will continue making this as part of our family Thanksgiving tradition for years to come.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great day…see you back here real soon!

With Thanksgiving just a little over two weeks away, it’s time to start sharing all things Thanksgiving!  Today I’m sharing this years Thanksgiving Tablescape and I hope this gives you ideas on how to dress your table up a bit as you plan to host your friends and family!

My inspiration for this years tablescape stems from nature.  I knew I wanted to create a more rustic nature centered table while still having a warm welcoming feel.  My table was created around these twill plaid forest green dinner napkins and this large wood twig pumpkin, both of which I picked up at Pier 1.  I also chose a cream colored tablecloth and this gorgeous burlap runner both of which help create a polished look.  The carved leaf chargers look and feel like wood and the oversized copper colored Dahlia napkin rings add the perfect pop of color.

To add more natural elements to my tablescape, I filled various vases with eucalyptus and even added some silver dollar eucalyptus twigs to the top of the wood twig pumpkin.  To create warmth to my table, I added these gorgeous brushed gold candlestick holders.  No Thanksgiving table is complete until you add a few pumpkins to the table as well so I selected white pumpkins to pull it all together.

You can get as creative as you’d like with your Thanksgiving tablescape!  You can simply dress your table with candles, some eucalyptus stems, and a few white pumpkins and voila…you have a beautiful and welcoming table that your friends and family will be thrilled to gather around!

As I share Thanksgiving ideas with you all, I hope you know just how THANKFUL I am for each and every one of you who continue to support KBStyled and come here to find inspiration!  KBStyled readers are THE BEST l and I’m so glad you are here, thank you!

I’ve always loved DIY projects so today I’m excited to share an easy and beautiful way to create a fall floral arrangement.  This arrangement is made with fresh vegetables so you will want to make this for a special occasion…think dinner party, brunch, or maybe even for your Thanksgiving table.  It’s fresh, beautiful, and makes a statement.

Here’s what you will need to create this DIY fall floral arrangement:

  • floral foam
  • wooden floral picks
  • floral sheers
  • floral tape
  • any container of your choice (I used a low white round serving bowl…I recommend something low and wide to support the weight of the artichokes)
  • artichokes
  • butterhead lettuce
  • purple green beans
  • colorful filler stems like these feather celosia stems

Simple steps to creating this beautiful arrangement:

Cut the floral foam into squares or the appropriate size to fit into the container that you have selected.  Soak the floral foam in cold water for approximately 5 minutes.  Transfer the water soaked floral foam into your container.  Use your floral sheers to trim the artichoke stems and then insert wooden floral picks into your artichokes (I used 3 artichokes for this arrangement).  Seperate your butterhead lettuce into several sections (this will be used as filler as well).  Group your purple green beans (3 or 4 together) and use the floral tape to hold them together (put the tape around the bottom of each group).  You will then insert a floral pick into each group of purple green beans.  Trim and seperate the feather celosia stems or any other floral you have chose to use a filler.

First, insert your artichokes into the floral foam and you will want to do so by spreading them out evenly so the weight is distributed evenly.  Then, place your butter head lettuce around the artichokes and allow the lettuce to fan out a bit.  Next, insert the groups of green beans into various spots in the floral foam.  Finally, you will use the feather celosia or another filler stem to fill in any gaps that you may have.  If you have any left over lettuce, you can also tuck that around the rim of the bowl to fill in any blank space as well.

You do want to create some symmetry but this arrangement is more beautiful when it isn’t complete symmetrical.  It should look more natural and less structured so have fun with it!  You can also use broccoli, brussel sprouts, etc as filler vegetables!

I’f you decide to make this, I’d love to see your DIY floral arrangement!  I had a lot of fun creating this fall vegetable floral arrangement and I’ll be working on my DIY projects so stay tuned!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by…see you back here real soon!
